Mandalas have been created for thousands of years by many cultures - used to capture images of gods and demons - which are believed both to plague and uplift humanity.

They can help one to remain connected to oneself - to act as a healing tool. By creating a mandala one can access wholeness and balance. I started my mandalas in early 2012, unsure of the history or purpose. Through the detailing of each piece I feel a sense of balance in my daily life. This sense of focus may then translate as meditation from maker to viewer. Using dissected maps, text, or having the mandalas appear to have ‘fallen off the page’ are methods by which I represent loss of direction and a constant struggle to find a way to feel a sense of wholeness.
